ABSTRACT A plant growing frame to secure a number of blocks of growing substrate therein with the blocks spaced from one another by an air space whereby air-pruning prevents roots of plants in one block from growing through the air space into an adjacent block. The frame has a horizontal network of criss-crossing rib means. Large block receiving meshes are defined between the rib means. Each rib means comprises two spaced side-by-side rib members defining smaller width air space defining meshes therebetween. The smaller meshes surround each larger mesh and so that the air space may extend vertically upward on the sides of each block through the smaller meshes.
