According to a first aspect of the invention, a plant nutrient formulation, and in particular a hydroponics formulation, comprises a synergistic mixture of: (1) An agriculturally acceptable surfactant, such as cetrimide, with either or both of the following components, (2) An amine compound selected from secondary amines, tertiary amines and hydroxylated amines, (3) A branched chain amino compound, together with other conventional plant nutrients and additives, as desired. In a second aspect of the invention, a plant nutrient formulation, and in particular a hydroponics formulation, comprises (1) magnesium sulphate and (2) a calcium saltbeing calcium glycerophosphate, calcium hypophosphite or a combination thereof, together with other conventional plant nutrients and additives, as desired.
