The invention relates to a method for increasing a plant pathogenic defence by chloronicotinyl treatment. The chloronicotinyls make it possible to obtain a good protection of plants against damages caused by fungal, bacterial or viral pathogens independently of insect control. The anti-pathogenic defences are obtainable by inducing PR proteins following the treatment by at least one type of chloronicotinyl.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'augmentation des défenses propres aux plantes par traitement au moyen de chloronicotinyles. Les chloronicotinyles permettent d'obtenir une bonne protection des plantes contre des dégâts causés par des pathogènes fongiques, bactériens ou viraux, indépendamment de l'utilisation d'insecticides. Les défenses anti-pathogènes sont obtenues par induction de protéines PR (liées à la pathogenèse) à la suite du traitement avec au moins un chloronicotinyle.
