It is intended to provide a novel plant seed extract composition containing a large amount of serotonin derivatives, which are active ingredients exhibiting an activity in vivo, and shows lessened side effects; a food, a feed and a medicinal composition containing this plant seed extract composition; and a process for producing the plant seed extract composition which is suitable for producing foods, feeds and medicinal compositions. Namely, a plant seed composition obtained by washing defatted plant seeds with water and extracting the thus washed product with an organic solvent; a safflower seed extract composition wherein the weight ratio of the total content of p- coumaroylserotonin, feruloylserotonin, p-coumaroylserotonin glycoside(s) and feruloylserotonin glycoside(s) to the content of 2-hydroxyarctin is 1:0.01 to 0.2; and a process for producing a plant seed extract composition involving the steps of washing defatted plant seeds with water and extracting the thus washed product with an organic solvent.
La présente invention concerne une nouvelle composition d'extrait de graines végétales contenant une quantité importante de dérivés de sérotonine qui sont des principes actifs qui ont une activité in vivo et ont des effets secondaires limités. L'invention a également pour objet un aliment, un aliment pour animaux et une composition médicinale contenant cette composition d'extrait de graines végétales, et un procédé pour produire la composition d'extrait de graines végétales qui convient à la production d'aliments, d'aliments pour animaux et de compositions médicinales. L'invention concerne notamment une composition d'extrait de graines végétales obtenue par lavage de graines végétales dégraissées, avec de l'eau, et extraction du produit ainsi lavé, avec un solvant organique; une composition d'extrait de graines de safran se caractérisant par un rapport pondéral de la quantité totale de p-coumaroylsérotonine, féruloylsérotonine, p-coumaroylsérotonine glycoside(s) et féruloylsérotonine glycoside(s), sur la quantité de 2-hydroxyarctine, qui vaut 1:0,01 à 0,2; et un procédé pour produire la composition d'extrait de graines végétales comprenant une étape de lavage des graines végétales dégraissées, avec de l'eau, et une étape d'extraction du produit lavé, avec un solvant organique.
