Within a hanging plant extension is contained an adjustable soil water content indicator. The hanger is adjustable for load, effecting the electrical contact between the contained batteries and the indicator, a light emitting diode. An electrical contact is made through the difference between the previous weight and the effected weight loss during water depletion, resulting in lighting the indicator.
