A plant simulator aiming at speedup of simulation operation has a DCS model operation unit in which plant state variables operated periodically by a plant model operation unit are received, the plant state variables are stored in a memory at intervals of each execution period, a control model is utilized on the basis of the individual stored plant state variables to operate a corresponding controlled variable, the operated controlled variable is transmitted via a communication interface, a controlled variable operated in the phase of a given execution period is compared with a controlled variable operated in the phase of the previous execution period, and the comparison result or the compared controlled variables are transmitted to the plant model operation unit.
