The invention provides an arrangement for attaching roof plants particularly on sloping roofs having a roof sheathing secured to a roof structure in the form of a top-side watertight welded plastic foil. In particular the invention provides a holding structure having a grid or mesh spanning the plastic foil in a spaced relation therefrom and arranged on and secured by spacers wherein the holding structure on all sides is retained and confined by a skirt surrounding the roof structure and wherein the top edge of the skirt protrudes beyond the holding structure and the applied soil substrate with plants or at least is flush therewith.
