The present invention relates generally to the field of molecular biology and concerns a method for increasing var-ious plant yield-related traits by increasing expression in a plant of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a diatom high affinity nitrate transporter 2 (NRT2) polypeptide. The present invention also concerns plants having increased expression of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a diatom NRT2 polypeptide, which plants have increased yield- related traits relative to control plants. The invention also provides constructs useful in the methods of the invention.
La présente invention concerne de manière générale le domaine de la biologie moléculaire ainsi qu'un procédé d'augmentation des diverses caractéristiques associées au rendement des végétaux en augmentant l'expression dans une plante d'une séquence d'acide nucléique codant pour un polypeptide du transport du nitrate 2 (NRT2) de haute affinité diatomée. La présente invention concerne également des plantes ayant une expression accrue d'une séquence d'acide nucléique codant pour un polypeptide NRT2 diatomée, lesdites plantes ayant des caractéristiques liées au rendement accrues par rapport aux plantes témoins.
