Disclosed is a method for detection and measurement of plasma binding activity of a test compound in a sample. The method comprises forming a mixture comprising a sample of said test compound in the presence of a plasma binding protein and a radiolabelled ligand; incubating the mixture in the presence of a solid phase under conditions to cause at least a portion of the radiolabelled ligand to become associated with the solid phase and wherein said solid phase comprises a scintillant; and detecting the amount of radiolabelled ligand associated with the solid phase as an indication of plasma protein binding activity of the test compound. Also disclosed is a test kit for the determination the plasma protein binding activity of a test compound in a sample.
