ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pulse generator for use at microwave frequencies having a resonant cavity associated with a spark gap switch in an envelope containing a gaseous atmosphere at super- atmospheric pressure. The resonant cavity is of adjustable size or adjustable effective velocity of propagation thus det- ermining the frequency of the output signals, and is formed within an electrically conductive portion having an end protruding into the envelope and cooperating with another electrically conductive portion to form the spark gap. The width of the spark gap is also adjustable.
