A plasminogen activator and a thrombolytic agent, factors specifically active on plasminogen and transforming plasminogen into active plasmin. This thrombolytic agent contains staphylokinase as the active ingredient and staphylokinase is known as a plasminogen activator produced by Staphylococcus aureus. Furthermore, for therapeutic use in thrombosic diseases such as myocardial infraction and arterial sclerosis, this invention provides the thrombolytic agent which is improved in the lag time and the inhibition at higher concentrations by the performation of the complex between staphylokinase and plasminogen (or plasmin).
