ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification discloses a plaster composition which is primarily suitable for the manufacture of reenforcing supportive casts for medical purposes and which comprises the components a) 55 - 97 %wt of plaster of Paris, b) 1 - 30 %wt of highly cross-linked, finely dispersed powder of polyvinyl ester more than 50% insoluble in ethyl acetate, c) 0 - 12 %wt of cellular or porous light filler material with a bulk density of up to 0.1 g/cm3, and, if necessary, additional small quantities of well known supplementary and/or auxiliary agents. In accordance with preferred embodiments of the invention, in the aftermenntioned composition, component b) may constitute between ? and 30 %wt; and component c) may constitute between 3 and 12 %wt.
