PLASTER OF PARIS AS A BIORESORBABLE SCAFFOLD IN IMPLANTS FOR BONE REPAIR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Plaster of Paris is employed to form implants as well as a bioresorbable scaffold for implants and bone repair in animals. In bone repair, the plaster is mixed with a non- bioresorbable calcium source, such as calcium phosphate ceramic, to stimulate bone formation. Plaster may also be used as a medicament implant, encasing the active material for subsequent release to the body.
