A nest surround for leafcutter bee nest blocks is molded from a synthetic thermoplastic material. The surround has a peripheral wall that surrounds the next block, and supporting structure for retaining a nest block in place. The surround is durable, light weight, easy to assemble and disassemble. The plastic material is corrosion proof. In some embodiments, the surround can be converted from a single cavity surround to a double cavity surround by using one component with a deeper peripheral wall.
