A method of manufacturing a valve rotor with a wear-resistant, low-friction surface, wherein a disk having angled edges and a shape which correspond with the surface of the rotor is formed from a sheet of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The disk is placed at the bottom of a mold cavity, and a plastic material is injected in the mold. The plastic fills the mold cavity surrounding and covering the angled edges of the disk. Once hardened, the plastic is locked together with the angled edges of the PTFE disk. In a preferred embodiment, a method of manufacturing a water treatment valve rotor with a PTFE rotating surface is shown.

Méthode de fabrication d'un rotateur de soupape comportant une surface inusable et à faible coefficient de frottement, où l'on forme dans une feuille de polytétrafluoréthylène (PTFE) un disque à arêtes obliques dont la forme correspond à la surface du rotateur. Le disque est placé au fond d'une cavité de moule, et l'on injecte un plastique dans ce moule. Le plastique remplit la cavité en entourant et en couvrant les arêtes obliques du disque. Une fois durci, ce plastique est ainsi immobilisé par les arêtes obliques du disque en PTFE. Dans une configuration préférée, on présente une méthode de fabrication de rotateur de soupape destiné au traitement de l'eau et disposant d'une surface rotative en PTFE.
