Disclosed is an aqueous plastic composition of an inorganic powder which itself has substantially no plasticity. The composition comprises the inorganic powder and a poly- saccharide of natural origin. The inorganic powder is, for example, alumina, cordierite, kaolin and zirconia. The poly- saccharide is, for example, curdlan. A sintered body of high mechanical strength and dimensional accuracy can be produced from the composition.
