A rupturable seal includes a first and second thermoplastic polymer layer and a third continuous polymer layer between the first and second polymer layers. The third polymer layer forms a first physical polymer blend with the first layer, and forms a second physical polymer blend with the second layer. The third layer can include a continuous fibrous strip of nonwoven polymeric microfibers, which may melt within a sealing region. Methods of making such seals and multi-compartment containers comprising such seals are disclosed. Applications for food storage and preparation and other diverse end uses are disclosed.

L'invention concerne une fermeture étanche ouvrable constituée d'une première et d'une deuxième couche en polymère thermoplastique ainsi que d'une troisième couche continue en polymère qui est disposée entre la première et la deuxième couche en polymère thermoplastique. La troisième couche forme un premier mélange physique de polymères avec ladite première couche, et un deuxième mélange physique de polymères avec ladite deuxième couche. La troisième couche peut comporter une bande fibreuse continue de microfibres polymères non tissées qui peut fondre dans une zone de fermeture étanche. Cette invention se rapporte en outre à des procédés permettant de produire ce type de fermetures étanches ouvrables, ainsi qu'à des contenants à compartiments multiples munis desdites fermetures. Parmi les applications de la présente invention figurent le stockage et la préparation de produits alimentaires, ainsi que diverses autres utilisations finales.
