D-2,191 C-2982 PLASTIC DUST TUBE FOR SHOCK ABSORBER Abstract of the Disclosure: Telescopic shock absorber having a cup-like metallic cover plate with a cylindrical rim having a series of arcuately spaced and inwardly projecting dust tube retainer tangs. The dust tube is formed from a generally-rectilinear blank of flexible plastic materi- al having a series of holes punched along the upper edge thereof spaced to match the retainer tangs. The blank is curled into cylindrical tube that is subse- quently inserted into the cover plate and turned until the retainer tangs enter corresponding holes in the upper end of the tube so that the tube is fixed to the cover plate.
