ABSTRACT An extrusion apparatus for extruding blown plastic film along a longitudinal axis includes a die having an annular extrusion gap and supply passages for receiving and distributing molten thermoplastic material. There is an annular mixing passage in fluid communication with an annular chamber formed in the die at an upstream end thereof. The mixing passage is in fluid communication with the extrusion gap at a downstream end thereof. A flow equalizing ring is mounted in the mixing passage and extends between inner and outer walls thereof. The ring has inner and outer series of elongate, spiral grooves, both series being equally spaced about the circumference of the ring. These grooves are arranged at the same circumferential angle with the inner grooves criss-crossinq the outer grooves. The inner grooves have their entry ports located directly opposite entry ports of the outer grooves while the exit ports of the inner grooves are directly opposite the exit ports of the outer grooves.
