2087846 9202410 PCTABS00010 A molded, composite, synthetic resin blade (30) for large diameter cooling fans is discussed wherein a stepped, synthetic resin foam core (68) is wrapped by a skin of fiberglass (70) with skin thickness decreasing towards a hub end (60) of the blade. A shank (66) is embedded in the foam core (68) and is adapted to be fastened to the fan hub (32). The foam core with fiberglass skin thereon is then molded under certain temperature and pressure conditions to compress the core.
