A method of manufacturing and certifying operation of a system for producing plastic containers using equipment having at least one controllable action that affects quality of container produced by the equipment includes inspecting raw materials (24) for parameters that affect manufacturability and acceptability of containers produced from such materials, monitoring operation of the equipment (18,16,14,24) including the at least one controllable action ,inspecting containers produced by the equipment for variations that affect acceptability of the containers, automatically controlling operation of the equipment to eliminate variations in response to information obtained during the inspecting and monitoring steps, and certifying acceptability of containers produced by the equipment. In one presently preferred embodiment, some or all of these steps can be carried out automatically, such as by a controller (34) that monitors the various steps and operational parameters of the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with predetermined limits for each step and operational parameter.
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication et une opération de certification d'un système de production de conteneurs en plastique mettant en oeuvre un équipement pouvant effectuer au moins une action contrôlable qui modifie la qualité des conteneurs produits. Ce procédé consiste : à inspecter les matériaux bruts afin de déterminer des paramètres qui modifient la manufacturabilité et l'acceptabilité des conteneurs produits à partir desdits matériaux ; à contrôler le fonctionnement de l'équipement pouvant effectuer l'action contrôlable au moins ; à inspecter les conteneurs produits au moyen dudit équipement afin de détecter des variations qui modifient l'acceptabilité desdits conteneurs ; à commander automatiquement le fonctionnement de l'équipement, de sorte à éliminer ces variations en réponse aux informations obtenues lors des étapes d'inspection et de contrôle ; et à certifier l'acceptabilité des conteneurs produits au moyen dudit équipement. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, toutes les étapes ou certaines d'entre elles peuvent être mises en oeuvre automatiquement, par exemple par une unité de commande qui contrôle les différentes étapes et les différents paramètres de fonctionnement du processus de fabrication, de sorte à garantir le respect de limites prédéterminées pour chaque étape et pour chaque paramètre de fonctionnement.
