PLASTIC HEATED FASTENER ASSEMBLY Abstract of the Disclosure A threaded fastener unit and driver system for maximizing driving force distribution, the fastener unit having a composite head section comprised of a thin-walled uniform thickness plastic coating covering all surfaces of an enlarged head portion on a drilling or tapping device. The composite head includes internal torque trans- mitting surfaces formed by slots intersecting at generally right angles to one another forming four upstanding posts with a radially extending flange at the base of the posts. The fastener unit is configured so that the driving force distribution is maximized to eliminate damage to the plastic during installation of the fastener in a workpiece.
