A two-piece fastener assembly for securing thermoplastic roof membranes to an underlying roof deck having: a metal stress plate coated with a thermoplastic coating on its top surface; an opening in the center portion of the stress plate; and a fastener positioned in the opening of the stress plate for securing the stress plate and one thermoplastic roof membrane to the underlying roof deck. In a method aspect the steps of securing thermoplastic roof membranes to an underlying roof deck, includes: placing a first thermoplastic roof membrane on the roof deck; placing a line of stress plates on the marginal portion of the first thermoplastic roof membrane and securing the stress plates along with the first thermoplastic roof membrane to the roof deck by use of the fastener; placing a second thermoplastic roof membrane to overlap the line of stress plates and the marginal portion of the first thermoplastic roof membrane; and applying heat and pressure to the line of stress plates and the overlapped portion of the first and second thermoplastic roof membranes to fuse them together and provide a waterproof covering over the roof deck.
Ensemble de fixation en deux parties pour assujettir des membranes de couverture en matière thermoplastique à une sous-toiture inférieure comprenant: une plaque de contrainte métallique dont la surface supérieure est recouverte d'un revêtement thermoplastique; une ouverture ménagée dans la partie centrale de ladite plaque de contrainte; et un dispositif de fixation placé dans l'ouverture de la plaque de contrainte afin de fixer cette dernière et une membrane de couverture en matière thermoplastique à la sous-toiture inférieure. Le procédé correspondant permettant d'assujettir des membranes de couverture en matière thermoplastique à une sous-toiture inférieure comprend les étapes suivantes: une première membrane de couverture en matière thermoplastique est placée sur la sous-toiture; une rangée de plaques de contrainte est disposée sur la partie périphérique de la première membrane de couverture et fixée, avec cette dernière, à la sous-toiture à l'aide du dispositif de fixation; une deuxième membrane de couverture en matière thermoplastique est disposée à recouvrement sur la rangée de plaques de contraintes et la partie périphérique de la première membrane de couverture; et ladite rangée de plaques de contraintes ainsi que les parties à recouvrement de la première et de la seconde membrane de couverture en matière thermoplastique sont soumises à la chaleur et à la pression de manière à être soudées et à constituer un revêtement d'étanchéité au-dessus de la sous-toiture.
