A thick-walled cosmetic container is made by over-molding a resin body (6) on a thin-walled glass or metal bottle. The bottle has a storage portion (10), a neck (12) extends from the storage of the bottle to an open distal end. To over-mold the resin walls on the bottle, the storage portion of the bottle is positioned in a mold cavity. The dies forming the mold cavity are adapted to allow at least the distal end of the neck to protrude from the mold while forming a tight seal about the neck. Resin is injected into the mold to avoid breaking or collapsing the bottle.

L'invention concerne un contenant pour cosmétique à parois épaisses, formé par le biais d'un surmoulage d'un corps en résine (6) sur une bouteille en métal ou en verre à parois épaisses. Ladite bouteille présente une partie de stockage (10), un col s'étend de la partie de stockage de la bouteille jusqu'à une extrémité distale d'ouverture. Afin de surmouler les parois en résine sur la bouteille, la partie de stockage de la bouteille est positionnée dans une cavité de moulage. Les matrices formant la cavité du moule sont conçues pour permettre au moins à l'extrémité distale du col de faire saillie à l'extérieur du moule, tout en formant un joint étanche autour du col. La résine est injectée dans la cavité du moule à une pression suffisamment basse pour empêcher que la bouteille ne se casse ou ne s'écrase.
