ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A multilayered boat hull shell or similar shell structure of the type formed from elongate thermoplastic shapes disposed one beside the other in an interlocking manner thus form a base shell which is then covered with a fiber containing laminate. The shapes forming the shell are flexible and have a uniform cross-section. The abutting edges of the shapes are formed such that the respective joinders between adjacent shapes define each an outwardly opening groove. The grooves are filled with a thermosetting or hardening filler whereby the final surface of the shell to be covered with the laminate consists of elongated strips formed by the shapes themselves and of strips therebetween by the filler. The invention enhances the shape retaining properties of the product, reduces manufacturing costs and renders the above shell structure useful for building relatively big self-supporting boat hull shells.
