ABSTRACT The plastics film support structure comprises a support structure consisting of a housing having a roll of plastics file rotatably supported therein guide means in the form of a fixed flap and a movable flap are mounted in the housing to guide film from the roll to an outlet from the housing. The housing includes film severing means in the form of an electrically heated wire or rod fixed in the housing and located adjacent the outlet thereof. The housing is also provided with a drop plate movable from a position where film being withdrawn from the dispenser is maintained clear of the film severing means to a position where the film is contacted by the severing means to sever a length of film from the roll. The housing preferably includes means to also rotatably support a roll of material other than film e.g. metal foil or paper therein and means are provided in the form of a keeper rod whereby a length of such material may be conveniently withdrawn from the roll and severing means in the form of a serrated cutting member and also provided in order that a desired length of the material may be severed from the roll.
