A plate (1), particularly a motor vehicle license plate, comprises a housing (3) having a rear wall (4) and a forward-projecting edge (5), which encircles said rear wall (4) while enclosing a light passage opening (7). A flat symbol support extending parallel to the rear wall (4) of the housing can be viewed through said light passage opening. For illuminating, an electrically activatable luminous film (14) is provided between the rear wall and the symbol support and emits light from behind through at least the areas of high transparency of the symbol support. In order to obtain reflective properties, a reflecting film (15) is placed in front of the luminous film while being parallel thereto. Said reflecting film is transparent, at least in areas, to the light of the luminous film coming from behind and reflects incident extraneous light that passes through the light passage opening from the outside. In order to prevent the formation of Newton rings and the like, a flat adhesive bond is provided between the inside of a light pane (9), which is transparent at least in areas and which occludes the light passage opening, and the surface of the reflecting film (15) facing this light pane.

L'invention concerne une plaque (1), en particulier une plaque d'immatriculation de véhicule automobile, comprenant un logement (3) qui comporte une paroi arrière (4), ainsi qu'un bord (5) qui fait saillie vers l'avant et entoure cette paroi arrière (4) et une ouverture de passage de lumière (7). Un porte-symboles plat s'étendant parallèlement à la paroi arrière (4) du logement est visible à travers ladite ouverture. Une feuille d'éclairage (14) à activation électrique est ménagée entre la paroi arrière et le porte-symboles à des fins d'éclairage et émet de la lumière par l'arrière, au moins à travers les zones extrêmement transparentes du porte-symboles. Pour conférer des propriétés réfléchissantes à la plaque selon l'invention, une feuille réfléchissante (15) est disposée devant la feuille d'éclairage et parallèlement à celle-ci. Cette feuille réfléchissante est au moins partiellement transparente à la lumière émise par la feuille d'éclairage qui vient par l'arrière, et réfléchit la lumière parasite incidente provenant de l'extérieur par l'ouverture de passage de lumière. Pour empêcher la formation d'anneaux de Newton et analogues, un joint collé plat est ménagé entre la face interne d'un panneau lumineux (9) qui est au moins partiellement transparent et obture l'ouverture de passage de lumière, et la surface de la feuille réfléchissante (15) qui est orientée vers ladite face interne.
