The instant invention relates to a platinum alloy supported electrocatalyst for gas diffusion electrode and/or in catalyst-coated membrane. The carbon- supported platinum alloy catalyst is obtained by simultaneous chemical reduction of in situ formed platinum dioxide and of at least one transition metal hydrous oxide on a carbon support. The transition metal is preferably selected from nickel, chromium, cobalt, vanadium and iron.

L'invention concerne un électrocatalyseur supporté par un alliage de platine pour une électrode de diffusion et/ou dans une membrane recouverte par un catalyseur. Ledit catalyseur en alliage de platine supporté par du carbone est obtenu par une réduction chimique simultanée de dioxyde de platine formé in situ et d'au moins un oxyde hydrique de métal de transition sur un support en carbone. Ledit métal de transition est sélectionné, de préférence, parmi du nickel, du chrome, du cobalt, du vanadium et du fer.
