ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Platinum (II) complexes of 2,3-dimercapto-2-butene- dinitrilate(2-)-S,S' derivatives having the general formula (I): Image ( I ) wherein R is a dialkylsulphide or trialkylphosphine group and each alkyl group may contain hydroxyl groups and has 1 to 2 carbon atoms, are useful for treating tumor diseases. A process for preparing these compounds and to pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds is also disclosed.
