ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Platinum compounds useful in the treatment of cancer are disclosed. Compositions containing these compounds and methods of using the same are also discussed. Platinum compounds of the formulae: Image and Image and Image wherein n is 1 or 2; R1 is a mono or disaccharide or derivative thereof; each of R2 and R3 is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl or R2 and R3 together are linked to adjacent carbon atoms on a five or six membered ring structure, are disclosed. Compositions containing these compounds and methods of using the same are also discussed.
