A play ball (90) having visually distinctive col- ored irregular shaped patches (124, 128, 135) dis- tributed over its exterior. Portions of the ball exterior may be uncovered with patches, and have a color dis- tinct from the color of the patches. Regions (134, 136) of different tactile patterns are impressed on the ball, and these regions may match all or parts of the differ- ently colored patches (124, 128, 135). A method of making the game ball involves the use of a mold (50, 52) which impresses the different tactile pattern regions on the patches (124, 128, 135) and the uncovered re- gions (134, 136) of the ball (90).
L'invention concerne un ballon de jeu (90) portant des pièces (124, 128, 135) de couleurs nettement différentes et aux formes irrégulières réparties sur sa surface externe. Des portions de l'extérieur du ballon peuvent ne pas être couvertes par des pièces et avoir une couleur différente de celle des pièces. Des régions (134, 136) avec des motifs qui diffèrent au toucher peuvent être imprimées sur le ballon et ces régions peuvent correspondre ou non aux pièces de différentes couleurs (124, 128, 135).
