A slip-joint pliers (20) has crossed pivoting levers (30, 50) joined at pivot portions thereof by a flat-sided bolt (75) extending through openings in the levers (30, 50) and engaged with a nut (78), one of the openings (60) being elongated and generally dumbell-shaped to accommodate the slip-joint movement. The pivot portions of the levers (30, 50) have flat facing inner surfaces (34, 54), in each of which is formed a single-level spring recess (35, 55) surrounding the associated opening, each recess (35, 55) having a peripheral side wall and a flat planar bottom wall extending from the side wall to the associated opening. A helical torsion spring (70) is seated in the recesses and encircles the bolt (75) and has tangent ends respectively engageable with straight bearing portions of the recesses (35, 55).

L'invention concerne des pinces (20) à articulation à boutonnière qui présentent des branches pivotantes croisées (30, 50) reliées au niveau de leurs parties d'articulation par un boulon (75) à face plane qui passe à travers les ouvertures ménagées dans les branches (30, 50) au contact d'un écrou (78), l'une des ouvertures (60) étant allongée et en forme de haltère pour permettre le mouvement de l'articulation à boutonnière. Les parties d'articulation des branches (30, 50) présentent des surfaces internes (34, 54) opposées planes, dans chacune d'entre elles est formé un évidement à niveau unique (35, 55) destiné à recevoir un ressort autour de l'ouverture associée, chaque évidement (35, 55) présentant une paroi latérale périphérique et une paroi inférieure plate s'étendant de la paroi latérale vers l'ouverture associée. Un ressort (70) de torsion hélicoïdale est assis dans les évidements, entoure le boulon (75) et présente des extrémités tangentes qui peuvent venir respectivement au contact des parties droites d'appui des évidements (35, 55).
