A plug (9) and mating socket for data transfer has four pairs of contacts (1- 8), two pairs (1, 2 and 5, 6) located on one side of the plug body (10) and the other two pairs (3, 4 and 7, 8) located on the other side of the plug body. The pairs of contacts are spaced from each other by a distance greater than the spacing of the contacts within each pair, the pairs (1, 2 and 5, 6) on one side of the plug body being offset from the pairs (3, 4 and 7, 8) on the other side of the plug body. Each pair of contacts is connected to one twisted pair of e.g. a UTP cable. The arrangement reduces inter-pair cross- talk.
L'invention concerne des prises mâle (9) et femelle destinées au transfert de données, comportant quatre paires de contacts (1-8), deux paires (1, 2 & 5, 6) étant situées d'un côté du corps (10) de la prise mâle et les deux autres paires étant situées de l'autre côté du corps de la prise mâle. Les paires de contacts sont espacées les unes des autres d'une distance supérieure à l'espacement des contacts de chacune des paires, les paires (1, 2 & 5, 6) du côté du corps de la prise mâle étant en quinconce par rapport aux paires (3, 4 & 7, 8) de l'autre côté du corps de la prise mâle. Chaque paire de contacts est connectée à une paire torsadée, par exemple un câble UTP. Cet arrangement permet de réduire la diaphonie inter-paires.
