ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A plug connector for hollow spacer profiles used in insulated glass is disclosed. The plug connector has a box type cross section with a center web and side webs. Triangular openings are found in the center web either side of the center transverse axis with the point of the triangle facing the nearest end. The plug connector is configured as a stamped and bent component made from sheet steel with an essentially U-shaped cross section. The side webs have a plurality of bent-out retainer catches which provide lateral guidance while also serving as pull-out locks.
