An apparatus (10) for cutting a roll of material (12) comprising an elongated blade (14) having a distal end (16), a cutting guide (18) attached to the elongated blade and positioned to direct the distal end of the elongated blade towards the roll of material, and a support (20) positioned to hold the roll of material approximate to the elongated blade. A method for cutting a roll of material having an axis and a circumference is taught. The method comprises radially cutting the roll of material from the circumference to the axis by advancing the distal end of an elongated blade, then rotating the elongated blade relative the axis to cut the roll of material. Alternately, the method teaches rotating the roll of material relative to the axis to cut the roll of material.
L'invention concerne un appareil (10) servant à couper un rouleau de matière (12). Cet appareil comprend une lame allongée (14) présentant une extrémité distale (16) et un élément de guidage de coupe (18) fixé à la lame allongée et placé de façon à diriger l'extrémité distale de la lame allongée vers le rouleau de matière, et un support (20) positionné de façon à maintenir le rouleau de matière à proximité de la lame allongée.
