A plunger is disclosed for use in an injection molding apparatus wherein molding material to be injected is supplied into a chamber and the thus supplied molding material is pushed out from a nozzle. In the plunger, there is a buffer portion for relieving friction between inner surface of the chamber and the outer surface of the plunger, the buffer surface is arranged on the outer surface of a tip portion of the plunger (first aspect), or a plain tip portion of the plunger is arranged perpendicularly to the center axis of the plunger (second aspect), or both of the buffer portion and the plain tip portion mentioned above are used (third aspect).
