Devices and method for performing percutaneous myocardial revascularization (PMR). A catheter in accordance with the invention includes an elongate shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. The elongate shaft defines a lumen, and a conductor is disposed inside the lumen. An electrode portion is formed by the bent portion of the conductor which extends from the distal end of the elongate shaft. A method in accordance with the present invention may be used to form a wound through the endocardium and into the myocardium of a patient's heart. Collateral damage to the myocardium may be created by infusing pressurized fluid into the wound. A number of fluids may be delivered to a location proximate the wound via the catheter.
L'invention concerne des dispositifs et des procédés permettant d'effectuer une revascularisation percutanée du myocarde. Le cathéter selon l'invention présente une tige allongée pourvue d'une extrémité proximale et d'une extrémité distale. La tige allongée définit une lumière dans laquelle vient se loger un conducteur. Une partie d'électrode est formée par la partie incurvée du conducteur qui s'étend à partir de l'extrémité distale de la tige allongée. L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de former un orifice dans l'endocarde et dans le myocarde du coeur d'un patient. La formation de l'orifice peut être améliorée en injectant un fluide sous pression dans ce dernier, ce qui crée un endommagement collatéral du myocarde. Il est ainsi possible d'administrer divers fluides à l'aide du cathéter dans un emplacement proche dudit orifice.
