The pneumatic radial tire of the invention has a pair of bead portions containing bead cores therein and is characterized in that the bead core is constructed by substantially winding at least one metal wire, and a bead toe reinforcing rubber stock with a JIS hardness of 80~ - 98~ is arranged inward of the bead core in an axial direction of the tire, the width of the bead toe reinforcing rubber stock is in a range of 0.5 - 2.0 times the width of the bead core in the axial direction, and the width from the outer edge of the bead core to the inner edge of the bead portion in the axial direction of the tire is in a range of 1.1 - 3.0 times the width of the bead core in the axial direction of the tire, and the side region in the axial direction of the tire and the inner region in the radial direction of the tire around the bead core and the bead toe reinforcing rubber stock is substantially reinforced by a chafer made of organic fiber cords. Thus there is provided a pneumatic radial tire with improved riding comfortability and cornering performance without increase of the weight.

L'invention porte sur un pneu radial qui comporte une paire de talons comprenant des tringles et qui est caractérisée par le fait que la tringle est construite essentiellement en enroulant au moins un fil de métal. Le pneu comprend également une gomme de renforcement de la pointe de bourrelet d'une dureté JIS de 80 - 98 qui est disposée à l'intérieur de la tringle dans un sens axial du pneu et dont la largeur est comprise dans une échelle de 0,5 - 2,0 fois la largeur de la tringle dans le sens axial. En outre, la largeur allant du bord externe de la tringle au bord interne du talon, dans le sens axial du pneu, se trouve dans une plage de 1,1 - 3,0 fois la largeur de la tringle dans le sens axial du pneu, de la partie latérale dans le sens axial du pneu et de la partie interne dans le sens radial du pneu autour de la tringle. De plus, la gomme de renforcement de la pointe de bourrelet est essentiellement renforcée par une bande de renfort faite de cordes de fibres organiques. L'invention divulgue donc un pneu radial dont le roulement confortable et le comportement en virage sont améliorés sans en augmenter le poids.
