ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pneumatic radial tire for automotive use is disclosed which is constructed with a two-layered tread portion of cap and base treads. Each of the cap and base treads is formed from a selected class of rubbers meeting the loss tangent at 0°C, dynamic modulus at 20°C and shear modulus at -30°C characteristics set forth in a specified set of equations. The resulting tire excels in driveability at high speed under dry and wet conditions and also in durability in cold environments.
