A PNEUMATIC SAFETY TIRE Abstract of Disclosure A pneumatic safety tire characterized in that there is provided a carcass reinforcing structure having a radially inner reinforcing ply structure and a radially outer reinforcing ply structure. The radially inner and radially outer reinforcing ply structure each comprised of at least one layer of parallel cords which are oriented at an angle of at least 75° with respect to the mid-circumferential centerplane of the tire. Provided in each sidewall there is a first annular reinforcement disposed adjacent the radially inner surface of the radially inner reinforcing ply structure which extends from said bead portion radially outward to the belt reinforcing structure. A second insert is provided between said pair of reinforcing ply structures and extends from-the bead portion to the tread portion of the tire. There is also provided a third elastomeric reinforcing insert radially outwardly from said bead portion up into said sidewall portion.
