ABSTRACT "Pneumatic Spring" A spring-damping device operating with a pressurised gas in which sudden movements caused by a severe drop in pressure are avoided or limited. For this purpose, a variable volume chamber 10, which is usually in a state where it permits relative movement of the piston rod 4 in relation to the enclosure 1, distorts during a rapid depressurisation in the enclosure, until it opposes this movement, due to a valve 20 which maintains its internal pressure near to the initial level.
