Abstract of the Disclosure A pneumatic tire for high speed vehicles used under a heavy load such, for example, as airplanes is disclosed. In order to effectively refrain a crown radius of the tire from decreasing due to centrifugal force, use is made of the following measures. The thickness distribution of both the case reinforcing ply and the tread coating rubber for surround- ing the case reinforcing ply are specially defined. In addition, both the ratio of a substantial cross-sectional area surrounded by the outer and inner contours of the tire to a total cross-sectional area surrounded by the outer contour of the tire and a flat base rim and the ratio of a cross-sectional area of the case reinforcing layer inclusive of bead cores to the substantial cross-sectional area surrounded by the outer and inner contours of the tire are specially defined.
