A pneumatic transfer terminal adapted to receive and dispatch a non-captive, tubular article carrier of predetermined length from and to a single pneumatic transfer tube. The terminal includes a carrier receiver having an internal chamber dimensioned to receive an article carrier therein and to position the carrier in operable alignment with the transfer tube. The carrier receiver includes a first opening for communicating the chamber with the transfer tube and a second opening for insertion and removal of the carrier into and from the chamber. A blower assembly is attached to the transfer tube and is operable to create a vacuum therein. A gate mechanism is operable to open and close the second opening. The gate means includes a generally planar gate movable between a first position where the gate mechanism covers the second opening and a second position wherein the gate is removed from the second opening. An actuator connects the motor to the planar gate.
Terminal de transfert pneumatique conçu pour recevoir d'un tube de transfert pneumatique et pour introduire dans ce même tube un porte-article tubulaire non captif d'une longueur prédéterminée. Ce terminal est constitué d'un receveur de porte-tube présentant une chambre interne dont les dimensions lui permettent de recevoir un porte-article et de le disposer suivant un alignement fonctionnel avec le tube de transfert. Le receveur de porte-tube présente une première ouverture par laquelle la chambre communique avec le tube de transfert et une deuxième ouverture permettant d'insérer le porte-tube dans la chambre et de l'en faire sortir. Un ensemble de soufflage, relié au tube de transfert, peut être actionné pour créer un vide. En actionnant un mécanisme à porte, on peut d'autre part ouvrir et fermer la deuxième ouverture. Ce système de porte est notamment constitué d'une porte généralement plane pouvant passer d'une première position où ce mécanisme à porte couvre la deuxième ouverture à une deuxième position où cette porte est retirée de la deuxième ouverture. Un actionneur établit un raccord entre le moteur et cette porte plane.
