A disposable differential pressure pneumotachometer (10) includes an inlet chamber (24) having an air inlet (14), an outlet chamber (26) having an air outlet (18), and a resistive element disposed between the inlet and outlet chambers (20). Air flow across the resistive element results in a pressure gradient which is measured to provide air flow rate. According to one aspect of the invention, the pressure port through which the static pressure in the inlet chamber is sensed is disposed in the outlet chamber (30). According to a further aspect of the invention, the resistive element comprises a bacterial filter material. Also described is a pneumotachometer in which at least one pressure port is covered with a bacterial filter material.
L'invention concerne un pneumotachomètre jetable à pression différentielle (10) comprenant une chambre d'entrée (24) pourvue d'une entrée d'air (14), une chambre de sortie (26) pourvue d'une sortie d'air (18), et un élément résistif placé entre les chambres d'entrée et de sortie (20). L'écoulement d'air dans l'élément résistif produit un gradient de pression que l'on mesure pour obtenir le débit d'air. Selon un premier aspect de l'invention, la prise de pression servant à détecter la pression statique dans la chambre d'entrée est placée dans la chambre de sortie (30).
