A pocket size stove for the outdoor cooking of food, named Pocket Chef, and comprising a housing having heat resistant side walls, a rigid heat resistant level surface, a rigid heat resistant fuel grate, and a heating means. The present invention consists of multiple elements which are flat in construction and whose dimensions are small enough such that they can be carried in a coat pocket, and whose elements are interlocked together when assembled, without the use of nails, pins, screws, welding, or any other fastening method, to form a stove of sufficient size, strength, and durability. The purpose of the Pocket Chef is the provide campers, picnickers, and other outdoor enthusiasts with a portable stove for cooking food which can be carried in the pocket when not in use. It is desirable for such a stove to have a cooking surface which is large enough to barbecue one or more food items, and which can safely support the weight of a large cooking pot. The Pocket Chef is constructed from multiple pieces which can be easily assembled and disassembled. The fuel source for the Pocket Chef can be either wood or charcoal.
