ABSTRACT An improved form of point-of-sale packaging for a hand tool, comprising a sleeve which fits around the tool, but will not fall off of it in the store. It is likewise difficult for a customer to remove the sleeve in the store and substitute it with the packaging of a similar product. The packaging may be made from cardboard. In one embodiment, it comprises an integrally formed loop, which is fitted around the tool (such as a combination square) during assembly, but cannot be separated form it without disassembling the tool, or visibly damaging the packaging, which would be indicative of tampering. In a second embodiment, the packaging comprises a multi-paneled sheet, which is folded around the tool (such as a hand level) and into an aperture therein like a hand hold, where the sheet is fastened upon itself into an integral loop. This packaging may not be removed from the tool without unfastening it to sever the loop and, again, visibly showing evidence of tampering. 5514C - 21 -
