A method for preparing a polarization element (10), characterized in that it comprises forming an undercoat film (12) on a transparent (glass) substrate (11), applying a dispersion liquid containing a metal on the undercoat film (12), heating the dispersion liquid containing a metal to thereby reduce a noble metal ion in the dispersion liquid and form a film (13) containing metal particles (14) dispersed therein. The metal particles (14) are localized in the vicinity of an interface surface (16) between the undercoat film (12) and the film (13) having metal particles, by their action with the undercoat film (12). The polarization element exhibits good adhesion between the films formed as mentioned above and can be formed as an element having a large area.

Cette invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un élément de polarisation (10) consistant à : former une couche de fond (12) sur un substrat transparent (verre) (11), appliquer un liquide de dispersion renfermant un métal sur la couche de fond (12), chauffer le liquide de dispersion renfermant un métal de manière à réduire les ions de métal noble dans ledit liquide et à former un film (13) renfermant des particules métalliques (14) dispersées. Ces particules métalliques (14) sont situées à proximité de l'interface (16) entre la couche de fond (12) et le film (13) renfermant des particules métalliques par suite de leur action avec la couche de fond (12). L'élément de polarisation se caractérise par une bonne adhérence entre les films formés comme décrit ci-dessus et peut se présenter sous la forme d'un élément de grande superficie.
