ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A polarized electromagnetic relay includes a movable block which has first and second U-shaped magnetic plates. The plates are fixed on both poles of a permanent magnet so as to oppose first and second ends of the first magnetic plate to first and second ends of the second magnetic plate, respect- ively. The relay also includes an electromagnetic block which has a core placed on one end thereof between the first end of the first magnetic plate and the first end of the second magnetic plate. The electromagnetic block also includes a yoke magnetically connected to the core and forked on one end to be placed outside each of the second ends of the first and second magnetic plates. The core is inserted in a hole in a spool around which a coil is wound. A guide supports the movable block in a manner to move in the direction paral- lel to the magnetic axis of the permanent magnet. A base has at least one set of contact members for fixing the electromagnetic block. A card is provided for supporting the movable block and actuating the contact members with the parallel translation of the movable block. The relay of the invention is chatter-free and provides early-make-before-break contact.
