ABSTRACT A polarized relay of this invention comprises a yoke having air gaps at four diametrically opposite positions, an H-shaped armature block having four contact pole portions positioned in the air gaps in the yoke. The yoke comprises two yoke units, each yoke unit comprising a substantially U-shaped first magnetic plate, a permanent magnet with one of its poles being located at the middle of the lower side of the first magnetic plate, and a second magnetic plate contacted with the other pole of the permanent magnet and defining air gaps between its opposite ends and the free ends of the first magnetic plate. The polarized relay according to this invention is featured by quick action, high sensitivity, and superior shock resistance, in that the armature block, which is a moving part, is lightweight because it does not contain the permanent magnets, and in that the magnetic efficiency is high because of the absence of the permanent magnets in the path of the magnetic flux of the magnet coil.
