A pole has at one end, a tool-securing device, a linkage (11) for operating the tool, a sleeve (12) for operating the tool which is designed to slide along the pole, and an arrangement for securing the operating sleeve (12) to the linkage (11) which runs inside a tubular element (40). The operating sleeve (12) comprises a securing wedge (13) that lies through a window (41) formed in the tubular element (40) and through which the linkage (11) runs.
